Selection Process Overview

The Screening Test is only the first filter. Candidates clearing the qualifying cut-off of 25% will move to the Mains stage, expected around 9 August 2026, followed by an interview/personality test for final merit.

Tips to Crack the Screening Test

  • Prioritise the three criminal/evidence law statutes (BNS, BNSS, BSA) — they appear across both general and law sections.
  • Revise civil law fundamentals (CPC, Contract Act, Sale of Goods Act) through bare-act reading rather than secondary notes.
  • Dedicate fixed daily time to Haryana-specific GK, as it carries unique weightage not found in pan-India exams.
  • Practice OMR-based mock tests to build speed for 100 questions in 120 minutes.
  • Don't neglect numeracy and reasoning — a Class X-level base is enough, but consistent practice avoids silly errors.
  • Track current affairs from the past 6–8 months, focusing on national and Haryana-specific developments.
  • Attempt previous years' HPSC and similar state ADA/judicial papers to understand question framing.

Conclusion

With the Screening Test set for 5th July 2026, candidates have a short but workable runway to consolidate their preparation. Strong command over BNS, BNSS, and BSA, paired with steady revision of Haryana GK and general studies, will be key to clearing the 25% cut-off and securing a place among the top contenders for the Mains stage.
